First, in the announcement vein, I was really excited to see that veteran reviewer Paul Goat Allen, in his Barnes and Noble SF/F book clubs column, named Royal Street to his Best Paranormal Fantasy Books of 2012 list. Just to be in the company of some of the authors on this list is humbling and mind-boggling all at the same time.
I'm starting to line up a few things for the first of the year, so if you're in any of these areas, mark your calendars!
On January 26, I will be in Wetumpka, Alabama, (Montgomery area) participating in the 10th annual Murder on the Menu author luncheon hosted by the Friends of the Wetumpka Library. It's a one-day conference featuring 11-14 author in panel discussions, plus a lunchtime keynote speaker. There will also be a book sale and signing. I'll post ticket information as soon as I have it. This is a pretty big event and usually draws about 150 people.
On February 2, I'll be in Birmingham, participating in the Local Authors Expo. Dozens of Alabama authors, including some of my uber-talented chapter mates from the Southern Magic RWA chapter, will be signing books at the Birmingham Public Library.
On Feb. 9, I'll be at Coldwater Books in historic Tuscumbia, Alabama (Florence/Muscle Shoals area), at a multi-author event. Again, I'll add more details as I know them.
From May 1-5, I'll be in Kansas City, Mo., for the annual RT Booklovers Convention. This is my first time at RT and I can't wait! I'll be doing a couple of panels there as well as taking part in the mega booksigning. More details forthcoming.
