Thanks to the nice folks in Portland and San Diego last weekend...now I'm back home for a while to catch my breath. A little bird told me a few advance copies of RIVER ROAD are winging their way to me as we speak. What, oh what, should I do with them? Hm....
A few things already coming for the fall...mark your calendars if you'll be in the area!
August 8-12, New Orleans: Authors After Dark Convention 2012! It'll be in New Orleans this year. If you've already signed up (it's sold out), I look forward to seeing you at the Royal Sonesta--lots of fun things planned. If you haven't signed up for this year, the 2013 AAD will be in Savannah and I've already made plans to attend.
October 27, Baton Rouge: Louisiana Book Festival, on the grounds of the state capitol. Not many details yet, but I'll fill them in as I get them!
November 4, Birmingham: Southern Magic Reader's Luncheon, at the Harbert Center downtown. So what if it's homecoming at Auburn and Alabama's playing LSU? I'll be hosting a table alongside some terrific authors, and the guest speaker will be Sherrilyn Kenyon! Make plans to be there if you can. There's TONS of freebies.
I'm dithering on Dragon*Con, in Atlanta, Labor Day weekend. Anybody been? Is it worth the extreme crowds and expensive hotel rooms?
